The Septimus Heap page

Magyk

This is the first book of the Septimus Heap series.

Tells about the story of the poor but magical Heap family in a kingdom beside a forest. Septimus was stolen at birth by the midwife but the midwife's baby boy was mistakenly taken by the evil sorcerer instead of Septimus.

11 years later Septimus found his family again but its not a happy ever after but a struggle against evil.

Of course the story was not as straightforward as that. It has twists and turns that makes this book an enjoyable book on a lazy Sunday morning.

Storytellers these days, it seems, cannot write a novel that begins and concludes in a single volume.

Some stories, however, are just too gloriously delightful to try and cram into one book and they beg for more space to breathe, to be enjoyed and savoured.

Angie Sage began her Septimus Heap sequence of stories with Magyk, and this refreshingly still-just-as-good sequel continues the story of Septimus with great skill and panache.

It's been a year since Septimus Heap, the seventh son of a seventh son, discovered his real family and true destiny to be a wizard.

A Queen who lived five hundred years earlier is set free when Silas Heap opens a forgotten room in the palace.

as awful in death as she was in life, Queen Etheldredda is still up to no good.

Planning to give herself ever-lasting life requires Jenna's compliance, Septimus disappearance, and the talents of her son, Marcellus Pye, a famous Alchemist and Physician.

With heart-stopping action and endless wit, the fantastical journey of Septimus Heap continues from Angie Sage.
